Cam Clark Auto Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager / Site Superintendent at our Airdrie, AB head office location.

In the position of Construction Project Manager/Site Superintendent reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing various construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.

You will be accountable for:

  • Supervisory responsibilities including selecting and overseeing contractors for specific needs to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications
  • Providing leadership in the initial planning stages by collaborating with internal clients, OEM representatives, architects, engineers, or other involved parties; developing detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete each project
  • Overseeing contract negotiations, revisions, and adherence by all parties
  • Collaborating with clients, supervisors, contractors, and other professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues
  • Preparing and submitting budget estimates and regularly communicating with internal clients concerning budget progress and costs; ensuring adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, making quick and necessary adjustments
  • Monitoring and managing project timelines and milestones; preparing detailed construction schedules, weekly tracking, and monthly reporting
  • Planning, overseeing, and directing activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities, and systems
  • Delivering scope while meeting or exceeding design and client’s quality, fit and finish expectations
  • Communicating and enforcing the Cam Clark Auto Group safety practices to laborers and sub-contractors; enforcing safety regulations on all job sites
  • Maintaining clean and organized job sites
  • Other duties as required

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Project Management, or Civil Engineering preferred
  • At least five years of project management experience in a construction environment required; experience working on automotive dealership facilities would be considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • At least five years of experience managing a diverse team of laborers and sub-contractors
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and US construction regulations
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices and techniques
  • Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and proposals
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction software
  • Ability to make difficult decisions in a timely and responsible manner
  • Strong work ethic and leadership amongst team members
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Worksite requirements:

  • Ability to travel to all worksites as needed
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, or stretching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the job site
