Project Manager – Specialty Surfaces Location: 7998 Georgetown Rd, Indianapolis, IN (In-Person Role) Jack Laurie Group is seeking a Project Manager to join our Specialty Surfaces Business Unit, focusing on high-performance flooring, fluid-applied flooring, and polished concrete. This in-person role is based in Indianapolis and will primarily manage projects in Indiana, with some travel to client and job sites as needed. While experience in specialty surfaces is preferred, we welcome motivated candidates ready to grow in the role. Jack Laurie Group’s Specialty Surfaces Business Unit provides durable, low-maintenance flooring solutions—mainly fluid-applied flooring and polished concrete—for commercial, industrial, and institutional spaces. Key Responsibilities Project Management Read, review and sign all contracts while ensuring durations and schedules are attainable. Manage actual project-related costs to project-estimated costs, and all change orders. Ensure all material purchasing are correct, and submitted to Purchasing in time for contractual start date. Visit job sites (as needed) to monitor progress, quality, safety, and cost controls. Ensure all project folders, reports, and CRM updates are accurate and up to date. Collaborate across field operations and multi-trade teams to deliver complete, consistent, high-quality results. Take ownership of outcomes and act with urgency to meet commitments. Estimating & Pre-Construction Read, interpret, and evaluate building prints and specifications. Prepare detailed project estimates and competitive bids for hard-bid and negotiated projects. Obtain and negotiate pricing with vendors and suppliers to ensure preferred terms. Business Development & Relationships Cultivate strong relationships with general contractors, construction managers, vendors, suppliers, and clients. Continuously prospect and analyze opportunities within the marketplace to drive new revenue. Drive revenue, growth, and profitability to meet annual goals. Qualifications Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Comfortable working in both office and active construction environments Knowledge of fluid applied flooring and polished concrete Knowledge of Division 3 and Division 9 products and materials Project management experience in Commercial flooring, specialty surfaces, or commercial construction (preferred) Strong estimating and construction project management background (preferred) College degree (preferred, not required) Must be able to pass a background check What We Offer Base Salary: $65,000-$75,000 plus commission (Based on experience and education) Vehicle Allowance Technology Allowance Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays Professional growth and advancement opportunities Position Details Work Environment: Office-based with travel to client/construction sites Travel: Customer site visits within Indiana (occasional out of state work); minimal overnight travel.
