Please Note: This role requires travel to our Langley Head office/shop AND/OR Jobsites across the lower mainland BC, a valid license and reliable vehicle are required due to unavailable transit services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in civil engineering or construction management
  • 5 years of experience in project management or coordination position of a company involved in water/wastewater infrastructure, municipal or industrial construction for municipal government agencies.
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of project and technical issues.
  • Experience supervising, training, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Strong analytical skills to organize, direct, budget, control and manage complex engineering projects.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with government contracting practices as well as technologies required in the water/wastewater treatment, engineering and construction industries in Canada.
  • Multi-discipline knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls.
  • Civil estimating experience
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office including MS Project.
  • Experience with project and document management systems, processes and software.
  • Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties.
  • Enjoys fast paced environment, willing to push self and others to meet schedules.
  • Aptitude to problem solve and think “outside the box”.
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean abstract.
Responsibilities
  • Provides the technical skills and leadership needed to successfully manage the projects and ensure that the work of the assigned personnel meet or exceed company standards, job specifications and drawings.
  • Provides leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to: scheduling, planning, coordinating, supervising, cost estimation and control, quality control and safety.
  • Identifies and/or verifies that the work package, which includes all drawings, specs, standards, procedures, tools and materials required by the crews, are available and complete.
  • Leads project activities to ensure that the project is executed in accordance with the designs, budgets and schedules; take appropriate action to minimize the impact of deviations.
  • Provides technical assistance and recommends construction methods and equipment.
  • Anticipates potential roadblocks and develops solutions to prevent issue from arising; resolves any problems that may arise during project execution.
  • Reviews project contractual documents to gain an understanding of the project requirements (time frame, budget, safety, quality, staffing, materials and equipment requirements), necessary to complete the project within the required time frame.
  • Identify errors in contract documents and design drawings and mitigate risk though RFIs and change orders.
  • Negotiate change orders, ensuring Tritech is fairly compensated for the errors and omissions in the contract documents.
  • Ensures all project activities are complete safely, on time and under budget.
  • Implements and monitors project safety programs.
  • Provide a safe work environment through continuous training and development.
  • Operate with honesty, integrity and respect.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff.
