Title: Quality Control Manager, Miami-Dade, FL
Reports To: Officer of Firm
Summary: The QCM is responsible for the quality control of the project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to inspection staff and third-party QA and QC teams. CQC is also responsible for assuring Subcontractor QC teams comply with all Contract Documents, scheduling and preparation of QA/QC materials, conducting pre-con/pre task meetings, inspection planning and reporting, and complete implementation and conformance with Site Specific Quality Plans. The QCM is also responsible for managing the project QC team’s resources for superior execution of the project.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Chair and document weekly meetings with the Owners’ Representatives and Superintendent.
- Utilizing US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) program, provide written Daily QC Reports reinforcing activities in construction and assuring conformance with each specific project’s established standard.
- Create, update and maintain the submittal register, transmittals and submittals, RFIs, and all other project-specific quality control reports.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with contract documentation.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Confirm special inspection report forms are being used and signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel and other similar items of work.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, Buy American Act and other pertinent contract documents.
- Understand and coordinate project schedule requirements.
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and the approved submittals.
- Document Contractor QC Inspections, Government Pre-final, and Government Final inspections to include back-checked punch lists with signed acceptance of compliance.
- Manages the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure all disciplines are in compliance with applicable owner/architect and contract specifications, codes, regulations and requirements.
- Function as the primary point of contact and liaison with the Contract Administrator for all quality control related issues.
- Implements and/or manages the keeping of all quality control records and ensures that required reporting is accomplished.
- Develops and maintains Non-Conformance Log and works with Superintendent, foremen and subcontractors to ensure timely corrective actions properly correct the deficiency.
- Assists Site Safety and Health Officer to implement and aggressively enforce safety program and practices to create a safe and healthy work environment.

Qualifications
- Graduate of a 4 year construction related program from an accredited College or University
- 10 years combined experience as Superintendent, QC manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager or Project Engineer and at least 2 years experience as a QC Manager
- Current Certification in US Army Corps of Engineers Contractor Quality Management course (USACE CQM-C certification).
- OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety certification is a plus.
- Spillways and dams experience a plus.
- Passing federal background check, E-verify and drug test required.
- Must be a legal resident and have a current and valid driver’s license.
- Must have good communications skills.
- Average computer software skills. Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
