The CQCM is responsible for overseeing and enforcing all quality control, safety, and compliance requirements for construction activities at the FLETC project site in Georgia. This role ensures that all work performed by Atlanta Gas Light/Southern Company subcontractors meets contractual requirements, applicable codes, OSHA standards, and EM-385-1-1 safety regulations.   The CQCM supervises daily construction operations, coordinates site access, manages subcontractor performance, and ensures all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules. The position serves as the on-site representative of Georgia Power/Southern Company, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.   Key responsibilities include reviewing and assisting with material and equipment submittals; scheduling, managing, and supporting subcontractors; setting clear expectations and enforcing quality and safety standards; and ensuring proper documentation of daily construction activities. The CQCM prepares and maintains required reports, job meeting minutes, safety meeting documentation, daily reports, photographic documentation, and issue logs as directed by the Project Manager. This role also ensures site security to prevent damage and theft, maintains OSHA compliance by enforcing safety standards, and conducts inspections to verify that all work conforms to contract drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural), applicable building codes, and industry best practices.   The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders. The position requires the ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders and traversing uneven surfaces to properly inspect work.   Position Responsibilities * Serve as Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM). * Supervise, inspect, and ensure seamless day-to-day operations and schedules of Atlanta Gas Light/Southern Company subcontractors. * Complete all the required on-site paperwork. * Coordinate site access for all subcontractors. * Represent Georgia Power/Southern Company with professionalism and integrity. * Schedule, manage, and assist, as needed, subcontractors. * Set expectations of subcontractors and hold them accountable for quality and safety. * Assist with reviewing submittals for materials and equipment. * Complete reports and documentation required or requested by the PM. * Ensure a secure job site to prevent damage and theft. * Ensure OSHA compliance by enforcing OSHA safety standards. * Prepare and document job meetings, safety meetings, daily reports, daily pictures, and issues log. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: * 10 years of experience in construction field. * Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) certification is required * Ensure safety compliance.  * EM-385-1-1 certification is preferred. * OSHA 30 Certification is preferred. * Be a self-starter. * Have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various parties involved in a construction project. * Must be able to climb fixed ladders, ladders, and navigate through uneven surfaces at times to properly inspect the work. * Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license. * Must be able to utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Understand how to read contract drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural) and be familiar with building codes, construction materials, and methods. Preferred Qualifications * PMP certification is not required but highly preferred. * Bachelor’s degree is not required, but highly preferred.
