Seed Environmental was established in 2013 to serve the insurance market, offering incident response for domestic fuel oil spills. Since then, we’ve expanded rapidly. Today we manage complex environmental incidents for the construction, energy, chemical, industrial, and agricultural markets operating from 6 sites across the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for a labourer to join our busy environmental remediation team. The role is based from our Doncaster office. The ideal candidate will be required daily travel to various jobsites with some staying away to cover projects. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous site-based experience within construction sectors, work experience in a similar environmental remediation role advantageous but not a necessity.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good verbal communication skills with customers, and all levels of internal Seed staff.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong time management to arrive on site on time and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel to different jobsites as required.
  • A full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional requirement to stay away.
  • Must be able to pass GDPR test.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As a Remediation Operative you will be working under the direction of Remediation Team Leader, Contracts Manager and/or appropriate staff. You will work together with a Team Leader as a team of two to undertake building works, groundworks, and remediation in relation primarily to oil spill incidents at domestic properties. You will gain valuable experience and skills, which may include; General building, Carpentry, Plaster patching, Painting, Ceramic tiling, Heating and plumbing. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out construction, repair, and maintenance work on domestic, agricultural and industrial buildings.
  • Supporting and assisting the Remediation Team Leader with every aspect of the works, internal and external excavation works, strip out work, bricklaying, roofing, studwork, boarding, minor plumbing, kitchen installations, bathroom installations.
  • Work from drawings, and specifications as directed by the Contracts Manager and/or Operations Manager.
  • Utilising own initiative, skills, and knowledge where appropriate.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment to complete building tasks, which will be supplied, along with a company van.
  • Undertaking groundworks, brickwork/blockwork, concreting, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Communicating with project managers, clients, and other team members.
  • Be willing to work away if necessary.
