What we do is not just transactional—it’s transformational. The Opportunity We are seeking a Construction Safety Manager to lead and elevate safety performance across active construction projects. This role is critical to protecting our people, partners, and job sites while reinforcing a proactive, accountable safety culture from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate brings hands-on construction safety experience, strong OSHA knowledge, and the ability to influence safe behaviors at all levels—from craft workers to project leadership. You will serve as the on-site safety authority and a trusted partner to superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams. What You’ll Do Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans aligned with OSHA regulations and company standards Conduct routine job-site inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards Lead safety orientations, weekly toolbox talks, and ongoing training for employees and subcontractors Investigate incidents and near misses, document findings, and drive corrective actions Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and reinforce accountability across all project partners Collaborate with project leadership to proactively address safety risks during planning and execution Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation, reporting, and records Serve as a daily on-site safety resource, providing guidance and promoting best practices Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance safety, efficiency, and overall project performance What You Bring 3–7 years of construction safety experience in commercial, industrial, or heavy civil environments Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and construction safety best practices Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis Proven ability to lead safety training and influence safe behavior on active job sites Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure or emergency situations Proficiency with safety reporting tools and incident tracking systems OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or similar certification preferred Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field preferred Physical & Travel Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to access active construction sites and various departments Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed Compensation & Benefits Good faith salary range: $130,000–$140,000 annually Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance 401(k) with company match Generous PTO, paid volunteer time off, and 10.5 paid holidays Continuing education reimbursement and additional employee benefits Equal Opportunity & Illinois AI Compliance Notice The Will Group complies with all federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws.
