JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, enforcing, and promoting health and safety standards on construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Level 2 or 3 First Aid Certification
  • Proven experience working on construction sites in the Lower Mainland
  • Own construction PPE, including:
  • Hard hat
  • Reflective safety vest
  • Steel-toed work boots

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a Safety Officer or similar role on active construction sites
  • Level 2 or 3 Occupational First Aid Certification – Required
  • Strong understanding of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety information
  • Able to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Self-motivated and organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience using safety or construction management software is an asset
    Job Types: Full-time, Casual
    Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address hazards on active job sites
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policies
  • Provide on-site training, toolbox talks, and guidance on safety practices and emergency procedures
  • Respond to incidents and administer first aid when required
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, first aid treatment, and safety training
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and trades to integrate safety into all project phases
  • Stay up-to-date with current safety legislation, best practices, and industry standards
