Townline has been building homes since 1981 and believe diversity is the cornerstone to our success and longevity.   Currently we are in need of a Construction Safety Officer to join our future site in Duncan, BC. Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the Construction Safety Officer (CSO) will be responsible for monitoring safety performances, completing daily site inspections and ensuring the project is properly implementing Townline’s Health and Safety Standards.     The Duties of the Construction Safety Officer may include but are not limited to: * Provide first aid treatment within scope of training; * Maintain first aid facilities and equipment; * Implement and monitor Townline’s safety program and related policies; * Monitor the safety performance of all on-site workers; * Hold weekly safety meetings with Townline employees; * Complete daily site inspections; * Lead daily FLHA meetings to promote safety awareness. * Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards. * Coordinate and execute emergency response drills to ensure preparedness. * Investigate incidents thoroughly and document findings for continuous improvement. * Ensure safety reports, orientations, meeting minutes and data are collected and submitted to the Superintendent and Construction Manager as required; * Able to physically work on site to maintain site housekeeping, repair guardrails, and perform general labour duties, etc. as required; * Other duties may be assigned consistent with the job description.   Skills and Requirements: * Advanced First Aid required; * Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification preferred; * 1-9 years of experience working in Construction - Concrete high rise or wood frame.  * Strong working knowledge of local residential/commercial construction practices and WorkSafeBC regulations; * Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills; * Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines; * Comfortable working with and/or learning new software programs (i.e. Hammertech); * Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook; * Effective communication skills; * Ability to work in a team environment; * Excellent attention to detail; * Good problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
The Construction Safety Officer will monitor safety performances, conduct daily site inspections, and ensure compliance with Townline’s Health and Safety Standards. They will also lead safety meetings and conduct risk assessments to promote a safe working environment.
