CORPORATE MECHANICAL, LLC HAS BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!

We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to become an integral part of our HVAC and PLUMBING division at Corporate Mechanical of New England! He/she must work collaboratively with internal administration/office personnel, external customers, and union trade craftspeople in managing and coordinating all mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing construction activities to meet both project and company objectives. The Safety Specialist will oversee all aspects of projects within the allotted budget and timeline according to the agreed upon contract documents, specifications, customer/client’s satisfaction. This position is located in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Key functions of the Construction Safety Specialist are to ensure that best safety practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and an improved safety culture and performance is delivered for a commercial construction contractor.
A successful candidate must be able to effectively self-plan their work topic priorities in a fluent construction environment that benefits the company’s overall risk management process.
This position reports directly to the Director of Safety & Fleet Operations with line management interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education Associate’s degree or equivalent training in safety management
  • Experience Two years’ experience in safety administration
  • Languages Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Literacy Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Work Time Able to respond off-hours for emergencies

Responsibilities

Follow the company’s safety policies and procedures to oversee environmental, health & safety (EHS) as well as vehicle operations for a commercial construction contractor.

  • Ensure applicable EHS related laws, regulations, and best practices are communicated to employees and complied with.
  • Conduct worker safety training in line with CFR 1926 and 1910.
  • Identify conditions that have potential to cause harm to persons, the environment, or the community and provide corrective solutions.
  • Evaluate written safety programs and offer improvement to increase their effectiveness and compliance.
  • Conduct incident investigations, documentation, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site safety assessments and verify effective corrective actions are being completed.
  • Evaluate high-hazard work permit processes and periodically monitor implementation of hot work, excavation, and confined space operations.
  • Develop jobsite-specific safe work plans.
  • Develop job hazard analysis.
  • Provide EHS guidance, trends, and improvement suggestions to senior management as part of the company’s overall risk management process.
