We are currently recruiting a skilled and reliable Construction Site Foreman to take charge of daily site operations for ongoing projects in Athlone and Roscommon.
Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Implement and maintain compliance with the site-specific Safety Statement and company procedures.
Ensure all subcontractors and workers adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Assist with the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) in coordination with the Site Agent or Project Manager.
Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and conduct site inductions.
Carry out scheduled site safety inspections and log findings using digital reporting tools.
Quality Control
Review project drawings and specifications to ensure work is delivered to required standards.
Monitor workmanship on site, resolve defects promptly, and oversee sign-off procedures.
Identify non-conformances and work with the team to improve quality processes.
Environmental Oversight
Verify that all necessary environmental permits are obtained before starting work.
Ensure environmental safeguards are upheld throughout the project’s duration.
Site Planning & Coordination
Manage the allocation of site personnel, subcontractors, and equipment.
Develop and execute short-term site programs and ensure project milestones are met.
Track resource productivity and ensure optimal use of time and materials.
Communicate regularly with project stakeholders and internal teams.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date site records, including daily logs, resource usage, and progress notes.
Ensure all works are backed by appropriate documentation (RAMS, permits, SPAs, etc.).
Participate in progress meetings and submit regular site updates.
Follow up on all HSQE-related action points to ensure compliance.
Leadership & Supervision
Lead on-site teams, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed as per schedule.
Address site issues efficiently to avoid delays or disputes.
Mentor junior staff and support the identification of future supervisory talent.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a foreman or site supervisor role within Ireland or the UK.
Strong understanding of health & safety, environmental, and quality management on construction sites.
Completed training in a recognised Site Safety Supervisor Programme (or equivalent).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Valid and full clean driving licence.
Legally eligible to work in Ireland – sponsorship is not available.
