CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERINTENDENT – GAS STATION/RESTAURANT FACILITY

Location: Abbotsford, BC Employment Type: Contract (Project-Based)
Start Date: Late August 2025 Duration: 14 -16 weeks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of site supervision experience, preferably with commercial interior and/or QSR renovations.
  • Strong working knowledge of petroleum site safety requirements and BC Building Code.
  • Ability to lead fast-track projects with tight schedules and multiple scopes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Competent with reading construction drawings and using project management tools.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Current safety certifications (First Aid, WHMIS, Petroleum Oriented Safety Training) are required.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Site Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of a gas station and quick-service restaurant (QSR) facility renovation in the Abbotsford area. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple trades in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment. Experience with petroleum sites and QSR interiors is prefered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all phases of construction, including demolition, building upgrades, and QSR fit-out.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with construction drawings, safety standards, and municipal regulations.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and maintain construction timelines.
  • Liaise with project management, engineers, designers and inspectors.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and maintain detailed site logs.
  • Enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices. Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction safety protocols with an attitude that supports a safety-first culture.
  • Lead regular site meetings and issue progress updates.
  • Maintain a professional and efficient job site that reflects company and client standards.
