Description The Construction Site Supervisor in Training (CSiT) is a full-time, hands-on role designed for individuals beginning their career in construction supervision. Over the course of one to two years, the CSiT will gain the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to transition into a Site Supervisor position with Habitat for Humanity of Durham. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of home construction and remodeling, ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and to quality standards. Lead, train, and motivate volunteers while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive build-site environment. Collaborate with subcontractors, staff, and homebuyers to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution. Manage site logistics, including scheduling, inspections, materials, and equipment. Enforce safety protocols and complete necessary documentation to support efficient project operations. Requirements 1 to 2 years of residential construction experience. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Supervising experience and strong organizational skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and kneeling. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software. Skills & Attributes A proactive go-getter who takes initiative and looks for ways to improve processes and support the team. Ability to train, guide, and motivate volunteers in a supportive and encouraging manner. Patient and approachable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Brings a positive attitude and sense of fun while maintaining professionalism. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with staff and community partners. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per day. Lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Safely operate ladders, construction equipment, and power tools.
