Description
Introduction To support the construction of Multi-Purpose Evacuation Centers (MPEC) under The Project for Strengthening Resilience to Disasters and Displacement Risks in Vanuatu. This includes visiting, monitoring, and reviewing the sites where the contractor is doing construction, sharing progress review, observations, and challenges with supervisor, and implementing solutions.   Project Context and Scope The Project for Strengthening Resilience to Disasters and Displacement Risks is a three (3) year project being implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The objective of the project is to build institutional capacity and strengthen national and community resilience to disasters and displacement risks in Vanuatu. This includes provision and construction of Multi-Purpose Evacuation Centers which will provide a location where communities can come to in time of disaster for shelter and safety. These centers have been approved by relevant authorities in Government of Vanuatu as suitable for construction. In addition, these centers will serve as community centers in times when there is no disaster.     Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing IOM Vanuatu, Disaster Resilience and Climate Change (DRCC) Unit
Responsibilities
The supervisor will be responsible for visiting, monitoring, and reviewing the construction sites for Multi-Purpose Evacuation Centers (MPEC), sharing progress and observations with the supervisor, and implementing necessary solutions. This support is part of a project strengthening resilience to disasters and displacement risks in Vanuatu.
