The Opportunity |Te kōwhiringa We are proud to be supporting the Northland region with Roading and Construction work on a range of projects maintaining and extending roads, structures and pathways across the network. We require a reliable and motivated Supervisor to help us lead the delivery of these assignments & our crew based from our Northland Depots. Be responsible for the management and supervision of crew carrying out construction works. You’ll be involved in the planning, organising, directing and controlling of activities and operations. Overall you’ll ensure optimisation of resource use, track and drive target and contract delivery to meet high standards, keeping our customers (and Management) happy. Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua With a steady track record of supervising paving teams laying a range of bituminous materials on roads and surfaces, you will hold: Experience & knowledge of the construction and compaction of road pavements; Experience & knowledge of the construction of Drainage and Stormwater systems. Experience & knowledge of the construction of Structure systems. Knowledge of construction plant & equipment operation; The ability to undertake site measurement and accurately order materials with minimal wastage; Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empower others; A proven track record in developing a culture that supports zero harm management, encouraging and rewarding excellence; The ability to deal with unexpected events/make decisions and provide direction to work teams; Provide solutions to unexpected events promote a “continual improvement” philosophy; Good verbal and written communication skills.
