Key Duties & Responsibilities Perform preliminary, construction, quantity and as-built surveys Accurate survey notes and sketches Precise installation of stake lines and survey control Complete field survey requests, measurements, setup and configuring survey instruments including grade control machines Perform topographic surveys to document construction progress Experience with Trimble considered an asset Experience with drones considered an asset Prepare detailed drawings, site plans, and layouts using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or related software Creation of macros for automating processes and procedures Organize and manage digital files, drawings, and survey data Coordinate with project managers, project coordinators, and construction teams to ensure drawings reflect current field conditions Minimum 5 years experience in construction survey setting Skills to carry out Construction grading, layout and topographical using GPS equipment, levels and TPS Familiar with surveying principles and theory, field methods, practices, concepts, procedures and safety practices Experience setting up, operating and maintaining robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Propellor programs Must be able to perform all survey layout calculations Ability to create TIN files Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays (during construction season) Must have a valid Alberta Driver's License Standard First Aid (training provided) Must be highly organized and motivated to lead a survey crew and work within a Team frame-work Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative Competitive wages with overtime pay.
