Description

Commercial construction technical assistants support the construction practice specialists who work in partnership with Commercial Producers and group members to provide attentive, effective client service, reinforcing and developing the client/broker relationship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with a broker management system is preferred
  • RIBO license is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Existing knowledge of insurance products, industry regulations and underwriting processes is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
  • Issue certificates of insurance & submitting to insurers as well as to clients.
  • Issue automobile liability cards and send out as directed
  • Confirm auto insurance for new vehicles with dealerships & submit to insurers
  • Follow up for signed statement of values
  • Follow up on outstanding endorsements by sending second requests and contacting the Insurer if necessary.
  • Obtain finance contracts
  • Check endorsements for differences from original requests, consulting with Practice Specialists as required; returning incorrect documents to Insurers for re-issue.
  • Responding to Lienholder/Lessor/Mortgagee requests for copies of insurance
  • Order loss experience from insurers
  • Participating in continuing education programs, as available. Further, this is an entry position and TA should make use of any opportunities to acquaint themselves with underwriting reference material & insurer requirements
  • Diligent observation of and respect for RIBO Code of Conduct and Privacy policy and procedures in place, in all aspects of professional conduct
  • Contributing to and maintaining professional atmosphere and appearance of the office
  • Participating fully in the team effort to continuously improve all aspects of customer service
  • Other duties or responsibilities as requested by the department manager and the account manager.
