Annual Salary: $46,897.50 - $50,173.50 Hourly: $24.05 - $25.73 Department: Culture & Recreation, Maintenance & Trades Division: Construction FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will perform construction maintenance tasks on all City owned facilities and operations. Examples of Duties: Performs construction repairs on various types of facilities and equipment. Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline. Requisitions or purchases supplies and equipment. Performs a variety of manual duties using various tools depending upon the assigned crew. Assists in removing, pouring and finishing cement sidewalks and curbing. Assists in laying brick, cinder block, bluestone, Belgium Block and other special construction materials. Cuts, removes and replaces asphalt streets. Cuts, repairs and lays concrete, drainage pipes and/or drainage catch basins. Assists in maintaining and repairing playground equipment and installing and repairing fences. Drives a pickup truck to deliver tools, materials, equipment, etc. Assists in taking measurements of the worksite and in deciding quantities and types of material and equipment needed. Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Highschool diploma/GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Ability to perform work order management through smart phone, tablet and/or computer. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of related experience.
