Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION - RESPONSIBILITIES

This newly created consultant position will consist of growing and delivering a diverse range of stimulating technical and strategic consultancy assignments in relation to forestry, land use and management and biochar.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Collaborate closely with HAMERKOP’s consultants on studies, analytics, assessments, and technical reports related to forestry management, conservation, and restoration projects across Southeast Asia (including Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia).
  • Support the delivery of client assignments, including the formulation of emission reduction projects, conducting technical feasibility studies, performing due diligence on carbon projects, and assisting with project certification under major carbon standards (such as Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, and ERS) for NGOs and private developers.
  • Provide strategic advice on voluntary carbon markets for NGOs and private sector clients, and contribute to the feasibility and design of climate change mitigation projects for international organizations and governments.
  • Drive business development activities by identifying new opportunities, building networks, drafting technical and commercial proposals, preparing concept notes, liaising with partners, sourcing technical experts, and following up with prospects.
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships with project teams, clients, and partner organizations, serving as a key point of contact.
  • Stay up to date with rapidly evolving climate change policies, finance mechanisms, and relevant international and national legislation (e.g., outcomes from COPs).
  • Promote HAMERKOP’s brand and technical credibility by creating and sharing insightful blog content and thought leadership.
