Job Overview
University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant Clinical Oncologist with specialist skills in the management of Neuro oncology and Thyroid cancers.
This is a new substantive post the post holder will be based at the Bristol site and will join established teams of consultants for the delivery of care. The postholder will deliver all aspects of clinical care for patients in the services they are supporting including outpatient clinics, ward rounds, radiotherapy planning, attendance at relevant MDTs and have an on call commitment.
The adult Oncology department has 36 (not all full time) consultants who work across Bristol and Weston. The Bristol site provides services to a catchment population of 2.2 million people. The radiotherapy department offers IMRT, high dose rate brachytherapy, SABR, Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery and molecular radiotherapy (radioligand therapy). Adult systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) is delivered in our 30 bedded in-patient unit, 20 chair chemotherapy day unit or in our two community units.
The successful candidates for this post must be registered with the GMC with a valid license to practice and should have completed Specialist Training (or equivalent) and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT date in Oncology within six months of the date of interview.
