The successful candidate will contribute to the Surgical Department and the Trust as a whole, working as part of a team to shape the future of the service, enhancing and provide professional leadership within the General Surgical department. This includes working flexibly to ensure that the elective colorectal lists are covered by a consultant at all times, this will include cover for annual and study leave and emergency on call cover. The successful candidate will be expected to reside within ten miles or thirty minutes by road of the Royal Hants County Hospital while on call unless express permission to the contrary is given by the Chief Medical Officer.
