Role Overview We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Critical Care Medicine with expertise in liver and/or kidney transplantation. The role involves leading ICU care for transplant patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the ICU team in managing critically ill transplant patients, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative careCollaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, and anesthetists to optimize patient outcomesPerform advanced procedures such as invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and hemodynamic supportEnsure compliance with international best practices and DHA regulationsParticipate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs for junior staffProvide on-call support and consultations across critical care areas including ER and transplant units Qualifications & RequirementsMedical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Critical Care or Internal MedicineFellowship or subspecialty training in Transplant ICU / Critical Care MedicineBoard-certified (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent)Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in transplant-related ICU careValid license or eligibility for DHA Consultant classificationStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsProficiency in English; Arabic is a plus Preferred AttributesProven experience in managing liver and kidney transplant patientsFamiliarity with advanced ICU technologies and EMR systemsCommitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, and continuous learningInterest in academic teaching or transplant-related research
