Join our dynamic Nature team as a Consultant Ecologist in our growing Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Dublin (though other locations may be considered), as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. Our Nature team are working on a mix of large infrastructure projects in the energy, water, renewables, defence and transport sectors, alongside managing smaller local projects. Our team is also supporting the wider AECOM Nature team with National and International projects. In this role, depending on your interests and skillset, you will have opportunities to support on a variety of areas such as: using innovative survey techniques for species and habitats surveys, data capture and reporting; work winning; management of projects, Habitats Regulations Assessments; and Biodiversity Net Gain mentoring and coaching of the team. Qualifications Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here's what we're looking for: Experience of working in an ecology-related job role in the public and / or private sector, and designing, coordinating/ leading field surveys Developing knowledge of UK and EC wildlife legislation and policy, particularly relevant to Wales, and the Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) process; Experience in botanical identification, undertaking Phase 1 Habitat / NVC surveys and/or protected species surveys, preferably bats or dormouse; Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (ecology roles typically involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time); and Strong report writing skills, with demonstrable experience in producing a range of reports and providing ecological advice to clients and stakeholders.
