Job Title: Consultant Endocrinologist Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Department: Endocrinology & Diabetes Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Endocrinologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, obesity, and reproductive endocrine conditions. The consultant will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care while contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance, and medical education. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders, including: Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Gestational diabetes Thyroid diseases (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer follow-up) Pituitary disorders Adrenal disorders Parathyroid disorders Osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases Obesity and metabolic syndrome Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Disorders of calcium and vitamin D metabolism Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans. Interpret laboratory investigations, hormonal assays, imaging studies, and dynamic endocrine function tests. Manage insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin pumps, and advanced diabetes technologies where applicable. Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient endocrine services. Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Bariatric Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Oncology, Radiology, and Primary Care teams. Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR). Participate in on-call duties as per hospital policy. Supervise junior physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals. Engage in clinical research, audits, and continuing medical education (CME) activities. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, infection control standards, and international clinical guidelines. Qualifications & Requirement Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution. Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine. Fellowship/Board Certification in Endocrinology from a recognized international board. Eligibility for or possession of a Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi Consultant License. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification is preferred. Preferred Candidate Profile DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant License or eligibility is mandatory. PQR Tier 1 and Tier 2 qualified professionals will be given preference. Experience in JCI-accredited or other internationally accredited hospitals and tertiary healthcare institutions is highly desirable.
