SUMMARY

As a member of the Quality team, this position is expected to perform in a unified, coordinated team effort under the direction of the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager. To assist in the selection of excellent suppliers, establish partnerships with key suppliers, ensure compliance, and improve the quality of supplied materials. This role is specifically focused on supporting the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industry, requiring expertise in processes and standards unique to this sector. This position interacts with supplier management, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and other Celestica personnel, as well as supplier representatives to improve processes that impact supplied materials.

PERFORMS SUPPLIER QUALIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT AUDITS

• Supplier Qualification to Celestica & Customer requirements, new Suppliers & Periodic audit /assessments of existing regional supply base
• Support site teams by assisting with Customer & third-party audits including conformance to QMS
• Includes qualification of Supplier Production Process and associated Work Instructions

LEADS PART QUALIFICATION

• Initiates IQC inspection and test plans to verify critical quality characteristics
• Validates First Article Inspection Reports and drives supplier actions based on qualifying parts to industry customer requirements
• Pre-production Qualification Analysis for purchased parts supporting New Product Introduction

PREFERENCES ARE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING

• Complex Mechanical Assemblies
• Semiconductor Industry Tooling
• Electro-Mechanical Assemblies
• Fabrications & Weldments
• Machining
• Robotics
• Clean-room Environments
• Supplier Special Processes including Cleanroom, Special Cleaning Processes, Painting, Plating, Welding, Complex Cable Harness Assemblies, etc.

DESIRED SKILLS, SHOULD INCLUDE MULTIPLE OF THE FOLLOWING

• Semiconductor Industry “Copy Exactly” requirements
• Technical drawing interpretation and geometric tolerancing
• First Article Inspection, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Measurement Systems Studies
• ISO & Agency Certifications
• A working knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques such as First Article Inspection, 8D problem solving, PFMEA, SCAR, Control Plan, SPC, Measurement System Studies, etc
• Ability to write technical documents, work instructions, and QMS
• Ability to consolidate, manipulate, and analyze large quantities of data.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent applicable experience.
• Min 8 years experience in an Engineering Quality role
