Description

The HCC job post holder will be expected to perform weeks of on-call for transplantation and contribute to regular ward cover as part of the ward team (1 of 5 member Consultant team). As part of their duties, the post-holder will also: 1.Participate in Liver Unit outpatient activity with 3 clinics per week including the HCC clinic and post-liver transplant immunosuppression clinic. The other clinic will be a general Hepatology clinic or post LT HCC clinic. 2.Participate in the management of inpatients with acute and chronic liver diseases.
This will include in-patient and out-patient assessment of patients with chronic liver disease undergoing evaluation for liver transplantation. 3.Provide specialist management and input to the HCC service and development of service of the transplant Oncology programme. 4.Participate in MDT meeting in Liver Transplantation, Cancer and Histology. Candidate will provide support specifically for the HCC MDT.
5.Be expected to participate in Liver Unit audit and postgraduate teaching programme. 6.Be expected to participate in clinical research as opportunities arise in sub-specialties such as liver transplantation, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver diseases, portal hypertension, fatty liver disease, sarcopenia, cancer and portal hypertension. 7.Support the administrative activity of the Transplant Unit. 8.Formal role as Deputy Education lead (with a view to take over position) The 2nd post (NET) will include: 1.
Participate in Liver Unit outpatient activity with 4 clinics per week including 2 NET clinic and post-liver transplant immunosuppression clinic. The other clinic will be a MASLD clinic. 2. Participate in the management of NET liver transplant assessments.
3. Provide specialist in-reach management and input to ward NET patients. 4. Participate in the meeting in Liver Transplantation, Cancer and Histology.
Candidate will provide support specifically for the NET MDT. 5. Be expected to participate in Liver Unit audit, journal club and postgraduate teaching programme. 6.
Be expected to participate in clinical research as opportunities arise in sub-specialties such as MASLD and NET. 7. Support the administrative activity of the Transplant Unit (e.g completion of immunosuppression switch project). 8.Have an endoscopy list every other week (portal hypertension) 9.Formal role as Deputy Clinical Governance lead (with a view to take over position) 10.Provide an ability to cover team and bolster for ward Consultant duties if the need or situation arises
