About the role:
The Consultant is responsible for assisting the delivery of core functions including early intervention, injury management, managing employee incapacity, workplace rehabilitation and wellbeing.
The role plays a vital part in reducing workplace risk and injury by providing expert technical support, strategic guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders to support staff recovery and return to work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A tertiary qualification in an allied health background is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to interpret, provide advice on and apply relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines, industrial agreement and departmental policies, procedures and systems.
  • Assist delivering the departments early intervention framework to minimise the impact and duration of emerging symptoms of injury or illness with the aim to reduce workplace risk and employee absenteeism.
  • Take a proactive approach in contacting medical practitioners to influence, negotiate and facilitate return to work
  • Develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  • Assist delivering the departments employee wellbeing and support program to ensure employees have access to the right support at the right time.
