RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive): Lead the identification/assessment and prioritization of key logistics bottlenecks and gaps impeding delivery of essential assistance by the humanitarian community. Support humanitarian partners in field locations where the Logistics Cluster does not have presence with the provision of common logistics services. On a strategic level, assess and review existing procedures in place to identify areas of improvement. This includes reaching out to organizations and generating feedback on operational issues. Analyze this information and act accordingly if improvements can be made while providing feedback. Act as the Logistics Cluster focal point in key field sites where major cluster activities are ongoing as well as deep field locations. This includes, but not limited to. addressing existing communication gaps between Cuba and deep field locations through organizing and chairing field level Logistics Cluster meetings. Conduct rapid assessments in field locations when response constraints are identified (e.g. accessibility, inter-cluster coordinated response etc.) 5.Work closely with WFP units to identify expansion areas of cost-effective transport modalities as per the Logistics Cluster strategy. Liaise with other functional units where required to clearly detail plans and operational support, follow up to ensure there are no gaps in the plan. Assist in the preparation and review ot special operation project documents for the implementation of the cluster activities. Attend relevant meetings and coordination forums (e.g. Operations Working Group, Access Working Group, etc.) representing the Logistics Cluster when requested. Ensure close collaboration with Logistics Cluster partners, NGO forum, OCHA, core pipelines managers and other relevant humanitarian bodies. Support capacity strengthening of Logistics Cluster national staff in field locations. Organize and provide training for partners in field locations where necessary. Advise and assist in identifying and mobilizing the necessary resources (i.e. financial, HR and assets) for the implementation of the cluster operations. Establish and maintain internal information sharing mechanisms, documentation formats, assessment formats, central file store, according to SSUD LC guidelines and standardization Support the collect of information on available transport and storage (both inter- agency and Logistics Capacity Assessment) and the status of infrastructure in the region in liaison with the Nation a) Logistics Cluster. Provide support to Logistics Cluster Coordinator, Deputy Logistics Cluster Coordinators and Information Management Officer to complete tasks as needed. Perform other tasks as required QUALIFICATIONS&EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Education: University degree (preferably in logistics, business administration, engineering, political science), or equivalent professional experience or extensive relevant logistics experience. Experience: Languages: A minimum of three years of professional experience in an international context, preferably in a logistics response. Previous experience in emergencies is important. Fluency in spoken and written English is required; Languages vary depending on duty station.
