These opportunities are exclusively for doctors currently based in the USA and Europe who are looking to relocate to the UAE The Consultant Neonatologist is responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based medical care to newborn infants, including premature, critically ill, and high-risk neonates requiring intensive care. The Consultant will lead the clinical management of patients admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support high-risk deliveries, and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, education, and clinical governance. The role requires adherence to UAE healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and the policies of the healthcare group. Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of neonates requiring intensive and specialized care. Manage premature infants, low birth weight babies, critically ill newborns, and neonates with congenital anomalies or complex medical conditions. Attend high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitations, and emergency consultations as required. Lead the management of patients admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), and newborn nursery. Perform neonatal procedures including endotracheal intubation, umbilical arterial and venous catheterization, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, exchange transfusion, and other procedures within credentialed privileges. Provide respiratory support, including conventional and high-frequency ventilation, CPAP, and non-invasive ventilation. Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and bedside monitoring to formulate evidence-based treatment plans. Collaborate closely with obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, pediatric subspecialists, anesthesiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, and allied health professionals. Counsel parents regarding neonatal conditions, treatment options, prognosis, and discharge planning. Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and infection prevention programs. Supervise, mentor, and support specialists, residents, junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff where applicable. Participate in continuing medical education (CME), research, and professional development activities. Participate in the on-call roster and provide 24/7 neonatal emergency coverage as scheduled. Ensure compliance with national regulations, accreditation standards, ethical practice, and patient safety requirements. Qualifications Completion of an accredited residency program in Pediatrics. Completion of Fellowship or equivalent subspecialty training in Neonatology. Board Certification or equivalent recognized qualification in Neonatology. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications are preferred.
