Description

The post holder will join 6 consultant neonatologists as the rota moves to 1 in 7. The neonatal unit at Poole (UHD) is part of the TV & Wessex Neonatal ODN and is designated as a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) and caters to a population of c775,000 people across Dorset and provides neonatal service to about 4000 deliveries/year. There will be a planned contract of 10 programmed activities. Flexible working/part-time applications would be welcomed, though we are required to maintain a 1 in 7 on-call to meet BAPM requirements.
We are putting additional consultant time to support maternity and neonatal governance including LMNS (this role is currently filled) and other roles which can now be filled after discussion with the clinical director at job planning and we hope that these roles will now be filled on rotation (education, risk, equipment lead, audit lead, post-natal ward and ATAIN lead and Family Integrated Care lead). This hospital currently has a 2-tier rota with ANNPs and clinical fellows in tier 1 and consultants in tier 2.
To understand the role in more detail please read the full job description and person specification documents which are attached to this advert.
Please note: Staff recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across all our Trust locations to meet service demands.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.
Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder’s home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
