Description:
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Consultant in General and Oesophagogastric surgery. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated and successful department of General Surgery which has an excellent track record in clinical service delivery and both regional and national teaching & training. Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a recognised tertiary referral centre for Oesophagogastric cancer and provides minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgery for complex benign upper GI pathology. The successful candidate would work within the UGI team to provide a comprehensive service including UGI cancer resectional work. Training in laparoscopic UGI surgery is essential, An interest in developing skills in robotic UGI surgery would be desirable to progress the current general surgery robotic programme at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Accreditation in UGI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy is essential. Any sub-specialist interest in other areas of UGI surgery would be welcome.
The successful candidate will partake in a 1:14 acute on call rota including rotas for CEPOD operating lists and acute surgical clinics.
They will be required to deliver outpatient clinics, theatre and Endoscopy sessions and attend MDT’s
