Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary breast care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert surgical management of breast cancer and benign breast conditions, utilising both oncological and reconstructive (oncoplastic) techniques to optimise patient outcomes. This is a full-time job based at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, main site, the Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. The breast surgery is only available at the main site of the DGFT, and travel between other sites of the DGFT is not required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgeries, including mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and immediate/delayed breast reconstruction.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical oncologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists, and specialist nurses, to provide comprehensive breast cancer care.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with breast cancer and benign breast disease.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, surgical trainees, and medical students.
  • Engage in patient education, counselling, and informed decision-making regarding surgical options and outcomes.
  • Contribute to service development, innovation, and implementation of best practices in oncoplastic breast surgery.
