Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Glaucoma to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive glaucoma care including diagnosis, medical management, laser treatments, and surgical interventions while ensuring high standards of patient-centered ophthalmic care. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and manage all types of glaucoma and related optic nerve disorders. Perform comprehensive glaucoma evaluations including visual field analysis, OCT interpretation, gonioscopy, and intraocular pressure assessment. Provide medical, laser, and surgical treatment for glaucoma patients. Perform glaucoma procedures such as trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage device implantation, MIGS, and laser therapies. Manage complex and refractory glaucoma cases. Collaborate with multidisciplinary ophthalmology teams for integrated patient care. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with DOH regulations and hospital protocols. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and CME activities. Educate patients and families regarding disease management, medication compliance, and long-term follow-up care. Qualifications & Requirements MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi. Board Certification / Fellowship in Ophthalmology with subspecialty training in Glaucoma. Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Ophthalmology. Minimum 5–7 years of post-specialist experience in glaucoma management and surgery. Expertise in advanced glaucoma diagnostics and surgical procedures. Excellent communication and patient care skills. Preferred Skills Experience in tertiary eye care or academic institutions. Exposure to advanced glaucoma technologies and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). Research and teaching experience is an advantage. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural healthcare environment.
