Description
We are seeking a Consultant Pediatric Anesthesiologist who provides advanced anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across elective, emergency, and high‑risk surgical settings. The role includes perioperative assessment, intraoperative management, postoperative pain control, and participation in pediatric resuscitation and critical care pathways. The consultant ensures safe, evidence‑based practice aligned with international standards and UAE regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide safe, evidence‑based anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessment and risk stratification for pediatric patients. Deliver intraoperative anesthesia management, including airway control, ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring. Manage anesthesia for high‑risk and complex pediatric and neonatal surgeries. Oversee postoperative recovery, pain management, and sedation protocols. Support PICU/NICU teams with airway management and procedural sedation. Participate in pediatric emergency response, including resuscitation and stabilization. Ensure adherence to pediatric anesthesia safety standards and clinical guidelines. Contribute to clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality‑improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with regulatory requirements. Teach and supervise residents, fellows, nurses, and allied health staff. Participate in simulation‑based training for pediatric emergencies. Engage in research, academic activities, and continuous professional development. Contribute to departmental policy development, clinical pathways, and patient-safety programs. Qualifications & Requirements Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent). Completed residency in Anesthesiology and recognized fellowship/subspecialty training in Pediatric Anesthesia. Board Certification (e.g., American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or equivalent). Eligibility for DOH/HAAD Consultant License. Minimum 3–5 years post‑consultant experience in pediatric anesthesia preferred. Demonstrated expertise in neonatal and pediatric airway management. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Experience in tertiary‑care or high‑volume pediatric surgical centers is an advantage.
