JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced consultant pediatric intensive care unit specialist to lead a state-of-the-art PICU in Dubai. This role demands clinical excellence, leadership, and a multidisciplinary approach to deliver outstanding outcomes for pediatric patients and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
  • Board certification in Pediatric Intensive Care or Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Western education and/or training (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, or equivalent) is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-board certification experience as a Consultant in a reputed PICU setting
  • Expertise in handling high-acuity cases and advanced pediatric intensive care techniques
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a family-centered care philosophy
  • Eligibility for DHA licensing to practice in Dubai
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and advancing PICU care
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU with a range of medical and surgical conditions
  • Perform advanced life-saving interventions, including mechanical ventilation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to ensure integrated, holistic care
  • Design and implement individualized treatment and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of critically ill children
  • Provide leadership in quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocols, and patient safety strategies within the PICU
  • Support and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to the training of fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals
  • Engage in clinical research and stay updated on emerging trends in pediatric intensive care medicine
  • Adhere to UAE healthcare regulations and uphold international standards of patient safety and care excellence
