Description

The Government Affairs Consultant, Project Coordinator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and monitoring project activities across various internal departments, operating units, and a wide variety of external stakeholders, including vendors. This role supports the government relations and public policy team and its initiatives, including event planning and execution, ensuring compliance with federal regulations/company protocols, budget management and vendor payment, and oversees various project timelines. The coordinator acts as a liaison between stakeholders and external and internal teams to ensure both project goals and office management needs are met. This role is critical to support a driven, high-performing team based in Washington, D.C. who works closely with colleagues in our Atlanta-based Public Affairs and Communications and Sustainability (PACS) team to build and enhance the reputation of the Coca-Cola Company.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. At least 5 years’ experience in Public Affairs, Private or NGO sector; government experience is preferred
  • Ability to work across multi-cultural, matrixed organization; good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate issues to drive tangible business actions
  • Proven experience as a project coordinator or similar role
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

This includes budget management coordination (including providing PACS stakeholders with updates and next steps), creating budget timelines and tracking its key deliverable dates, giving budget updates to PACS Leaders, wrapping up financial cycles and gathering learnings

Pay Range:$74,800 - $93,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Responsibilities
  • Works with internal and external executive stakeholders to coordinate high-level meetings and schedules in the DC office. This includes drafting critical correspondence with key stakeholders, partners, and business leader’s; tracking and managing follow-up with appropriate leaders.
  • Provides support in arranging meetings, including coordinating the agenda, collaboration of presentations/information, handling logistics (such as conference registrations, room reservations both internal and external, and local travel). Additionally, provide hospitality for Senior Management or guests of the department which may include planning, arranging, and confirming all local logistics support.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and documentation.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects, including the creation of vendor profile and all aspects of the vendor payment and accounts payable process.
  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings; document and follow up on important actions and decisions.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance with government standards and regulations.
  • Ensure procurement processes and contractor/vendor management follow public sector policies.
  • Ensure that all project-related activities comply with organizational and client standards.
  • Support the VP of PPGR and/or DC office with administrative tasks such as preparing presentations, tracking budgets, and updating status reports. May be asked to assist with calendar management, travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Coordinate communications between internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings in the office, workshops, and public engagement sessions.
  • Maintain accurate project records, files, and regulatory documentation.
