Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to work with us at our South London & Maudsley NHS trust

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

• Lead psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management of children and adolescents with a range of mental health disorders, including:
• Neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability)
• Mood and anxiety disorders (depression, OCD, PTSD, phobias)
• Psychotic disorders (early-onset schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
• Eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, ARFID)
• Self-harm and suicidality risk management
• Behavioural disorders (conduct disorder, ODD)
• Trauma-related disorders
• Develop and oversee individualised care plans, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Provide psychiatric input to multidisciplinary teams (MDT), including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nurses.
• Work closely with families, schools, local authorities, and community services to deliver holistic care.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, inpatient reviews, crisis interventions, and telepsychiatry consultations.
• Conduct risk assessments for self-harm, suicide, aggression, and safeguarding concerns.
• Work with Child Protection Services, safeguarding teams, and social care to protect vulnerable young people.
• Apply the Mental Health Act (MHA), Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and Children Act appropriately.
