About the opportunity
Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (MMH&WS), a provider of public mental health services for the southwestern metropolitan area of Melbourne is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist for work at our Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.
The position will be based at our Clare Moore Building, Werribee Mercy Hospital. This 54 bed adult acute psychiatrist inpatient unit is very well supported with six consultant psychiatrist and an ever-growing JMO workforce and robust registrar training program.
MMH&WS covers Australia’s most diverse and growing population with a commitment to quality patient centred care and recovery orientated practice making this position both challenging and rewarding.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA)
  • Extensive experience in working effectively with consumers who have psychosocial mental health needs
  • Experience in the identification and management of a range of mental health issues including psychosis, anxiety, depression, complex post-traumatic stress disorder and risk issues
  • Autonomy, organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or (or working towards)
