The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT), overseeing patient care directly and through supervised medical staff. They will collaborate with managers and other consultants to ensure effective service delivery and development. Responsibilities include clinical supervision and line management of trainees and specialty doctors, delivering direct patient care, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and managing referrals and care plans. The role involves undertaking Mental Health Act assessments, Responsible Clinician duties, and preparing legal reports for tribunals.
The post holder must work closely with other health and social care agencies and contribute to service improvements. They will provide cross-cover for colleagues during absences, participate in the Oxfordshire on-call rota, and take part in a rota managing patients with no fixed address
