JOB OVERVIEW

The Radiology Directorate at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust requires a Consultant Radiologists with an interest in Cardiothoracic Imaging.
The post will be a cross site post with sessions across our two main sites depending on the clinical need. The successful candidate must demonstrate skills in all routine diagnostic radiology studies but should also have a particular interest in Cardiac and Respiratory imaging. The role will have a commitment to the Lung Cancer MDT. The candidate should be able to take part in an Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) MDT. The candidate should be able to perform CT / US guided lung and pleural biopsies.
The candidate should have skills in cardiac CT (at least level 2 accreditation) and MR. We are looking for a Consultant to support our Lead in Cardiac Imaging to develop our service across both sites.
We are a progressive, busy department running across two sites with a team of 28 Consultant Radiologists. The posts would carry an on-call commitment. Basic interventional skills would be expected.
We are a teaching unit with SpRs from the Kent Training scheme and medical students from the Kent and Medway Medical School. There is also opportunity to be involved in research and trials ongoing in the Oncology centre. We are able to offer home reporting facilities to encourage flexible, family friendly working.

Responsibilities

The posts will have duties for consultant provision of diagnostic imaging services for both the Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone Hospitals, and will join a team of 28 Consultant Radiologistss. The successful candidates must demonstrate skills in general and oncological radiology but also reporting general cross-sectional imaging and should have a particular interest in an oncological sub speciality / tumour group.
