The role focuses on delivering comprehensive eye care services, including diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of ocular conditions, within a modern clinical environment equipped with advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical technologies. Role Overview • Position: Consultant / Specialist Ophthalmologist • Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates • Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty hospital with advanced ophthalmology and eye care services • Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years post speciality • Practice Model: Outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, and ophthalmic surgical procedures The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and surgical management of a wide range of eye conditions. Key Responsibilities – Ophthalmology • Diagnose and manage eye conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and ocular infections • Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract surgery and other microsurgical interventions • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, slit-lamp examination, and fundoscopic evaluation • Interpret and utilise advanced diagnostic tools, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual field testing, and retinal imaging • Manage chronic ophthalmic conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy • Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative care for surgical patients • Collaborate with optometrists, endocrinologists, neurologists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary care • Provide patient education on eye health, vision care, and preventive strategies • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ophthalmology programs • Ensure adherence to international ophthalmology guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations Qualifications & Board Recognition Applications are welcome from physicians holding recognised specialist qualifications such as: • American Board of Ophthalmology • UK CCT / FRCOphth / MRCOphth • Royal College Certification (Canada) • Australian Fellowship • Arab Board in Ophthalmology • MS / MD / DNB / FCPS Ophthalmology or equivalent recognised specialist qualification Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing. Licensing guidance and support will be provided where applicable.
