The appointee will be expected, in conjunction with his/her colleagues, to provide a comprehensive orthopaedic and trauma service and to contribute to the on-call rota. The key areas for the postholder will include: Assessment, care & treatment of patients presenting to the orthopaedic service and Emergency department. Play a major role in developing surgical pathways with an emphasis on ambulatory care and trauma patient flow Develop the provision of diabetic foot pathway and involve in MDT approach to diabetic feet. Lead quality improvement in orthopaedic and trauma surgery Clinical leadership in the delivery of a high quality orthopaedic trauma service Providing teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes Abide by the clinical and corporate governance policies of the trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of Trauma and Orthopaedic conditions and have a special interest in foot and ankle problems and diabetic foot. The department operates activity in the Medway and Swale area therefore clinical/outpatient work is required at MFT and Sittingbourne sites
