  • You have extensive experience in a consultation, research or analyst role
  • You have knowledge of and are up to date with developments and trends in Local Government and the consultation industry, the legislative framework for consultation and engagement, and best practice principles around this
  • You are up to date with the latest technology and can demonstrate outstanding data analysis skills
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • You have experience of successfully delivering a high standard of projects to multiple, competing deadlines
  • You have experience of dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • You have an understanding of the need to consider accessibility, information security and privacy requirements in all aspects of your work

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and creative consultation or engagement professional, who can turn complex data into valuable insight and intelligence for decision-makers. You’ll need to be customer-focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload, and operate effectively as part of a team are also essential skills for this role.

The role comprises the following main elements:

  • Analysing consultation data and writing feedback reports for internal and public use
  • Using the Council’s consultation software to build and manage consultation activity across both councils
  • Making use of technology such as mapping tools, embedded media and analytics to ensure we are creating engaging consultations and using the results to inform decision-making
  • Providing advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels on consultation and engagement
