Description

Brainmates is a leading product consulting and capability partner, supporting enterprise organisations across Australia and New Zealand to design and embed product operating models. We partner with clients to improve the way they work, lift capability, and deliver better outcomes for customers and businesses alike.
We are looking for a Consulting Engagement Manager to join our professional services team. This role is full-time and based in Australia (remote first within AEST). Sydney or Melbourne preferred. Travel to client sites may be required.
This is a unique opportunity to work with some of Australia’s largest enterprises, helping shape the future of product practice while operating in an agile, boutique consultancy environment.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an individual with proven experience in:

  • Consulting engagements with enterprise organisations, particularly in areas such as organisational methods, process improvement, or operating model uplift.
  • Account management and growth of enterprise client relationships, including retention, expansion, and senior stakeholder management.
  • Management of programs to support clients in adopting and embedding new ways of working.
  • Able to operate with the variety and pace of a boutique consultancy, while confidently engaging senior stakeholders in large, complex organisations.
Responsibilities

As Consulting Engagement Manager, you will be the primary contact for a portfolio of enterprise clients, ensuring the successful delivery of consulting and capability programs. The role blends client relationship management with delivery coordination and organisational analysis, supporting the adoption of new ways of working through Brainmates’ product operating model and capability uplift approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and managing strong client partnerships to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinating and overseeing delivery of professional services engagements, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed time, scope, and margin targets.
  • Supporting clients in embedding product operating model practices by:
  • reviewing current ways of working and identifying opportunities for improvement in systems, workflows, and structures.
  • analysing gaps and opportunities and contributing to proposals that recommend refinements to methods, procedures, and roles.
  • coordinating delivery activities, scheduling sessions, and enabling collaboration across stakeholders.
  • Contributing analysis and recommendations to consultants and leadership to inform solutions to client organisational challenges.
  • Assisting in implementing approved improvements and monitoring engagement performance.
  • Leading programs and facilitating sessions that build client capability and support the sustained adoption of improved ways of working.
  • Support account growth by identifying and pursuing opportunities for new services and expanding engagements.
