Description:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 6+ years of experience in consulting or brokerage in U.S. health/welfare benefits.
- 2+ years of experience in underwriting beyond basic model usage.
- 4+ years of experience managing multiple projects/clients simultaneously.
- 4+ years of demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with specific expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
As a Consulting Manager in Employer Health, you will provide strategic and technical employee benefit consulting services to plan sponsors, including employers and municipal governments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary contact for ongoing clients or lead project manager for specific projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.
- Prepare self-insured financial projections and support health plan management, including financial reporting, premium rate setting, and employee contributions.
- Conduct employee benefits studies, including benchmarking and modeling alternative designs.
- Develop comprehensive benefits strategies, including plan offerings and design.
- Manage RFP processes for medical, dental, pharmacy, life, and disability programs, including development, administration, proposal evaluation, vendor selection, negotiation, and implementation.
- Review and negotiate premium rate/administrative fee renewals.
- Advise clients on industry trends, best practices, regulatory updates, and compliance deadlines.
- Evaluate vendors by reviewing services, contracts, performance guarantees, and renewals.
- Analyze claims utilization data and assess health plan performance against strategy.
- Act as an extension of the HR team, assisting with ad hoc requests or issues.
- Prepare client presentations and reports.
- Serve as a project manager to train and mentor junior team members.
- Engage in general health & welfare consulting activities as needed.
