Description
The Division of Financial Institutions ensures Ohioans’ money is safe by regulating financial institutions and service providers. This includes examining, supervising and regulating Ohio chartered banks and credit unions, and licensing and regulating non-depository mortgage brokers, mortgage loan originators, and other consumer lenders. The Division’s Office of Consumer Affairs provides assistance to consumers to help resolve complaints against these institutions and works to provide education to Ohioans regarding financial literacy and other consumer protection topics. What You'll Do: Independently conducts investigations into complaints and allegations involving licensed and unlicensed consumer finance entities, including fraud, unethical behavior, and regulatory violations. Performs unannounced on-site inspections and audits to identify violations of state and federal laws, and monitors compliance with disciplinary actions Prepares detailed investigative reports and collaborates with legal personnel to support administrative or criminal proceedings, including testifying in hearings Collects and safeguards evidence, conducts interviews, background checks, and surveillance, and maintains accurate case records in a tracking database Provides training and contributes to policy development, helping to improve investigative procedures and ensure adherence to agency standards 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. investigative exp. with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license. -Or Completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 mos. exp. conducting investigations &/or inspections; valid driver’s license. -Or 30 mos. trg. or 30 mos. exp. as Investigator Assistant, 26210 with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
