Penultimate or final year law student wanted! Family law related!
Children’s Contact Services (CCSs) help children from separated families to establish or maintain a relationship with the parent or significant other they do not live with.
A CCS provides a neutral venue for safe transitions when family’s separate and the transfer of children from one parent to another needs a professional supervisor.
Sometimes court Orders or parenting agreements provide that supervisor is to stay with a parent while they spend time with their children for a few hours a week, or drive a child from one parent to the other.
ISupervise is a one on one supervising service where children remain in the sight and hearing of the supervisor. We are on offsite supervising service, which means parents can choose the location where the visit will take place. This means you may be working in some of the most fun locations in Sydney!
We are looking for two penultimate or final year law student to undertake supervised contact visits and changeovers on a contractual basis on Saturday and/or Sunday.
Minimum hours expected: 3 hours
Maximum hours expected: 15 hours
Tasks & responsibilities
· Supervise children from separated families while they establish or maintain a relationship with the non-resident parent or significant other.
· Supervise children in offsite locations such as parks and libraries on weekends on a contractual basis.
· Supervise children and their parents who may display challenging and difficult behaviours, while remaining impartial and professional.
· Write observational notes in your phone or ipad during visits
You must:
· be completing your law degree or completed it
· hold a valid and current Working with Children’s check*
· hold a clear criminal background check*
· First Aid (HLTAID003) certificate*
· have experience with children
· have your own car on weekends which is comprehensively insured
*or willingness to attain one
