Description
Inspection Planning: Schedule and coordinate container inspections based on shipping schedules and client requirements. Physical Inspection: Conduct detailed visual and physical examinations of shipping containers to identify structural integrity, cleanliness, and any potential defects or damages. Documentation Review: Review container documentation, including manifests, maintenance records, and previous inspection reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance. Defect Identification: Identify and document defects, such as corrosion, dents, leaks, or other damages that might compromise the safety or quality of the container. Measurement and Testing: Utilize specialized tools to measure container dimensions, wall thickness, and conduct tests for watertightness and air pressure. Compliance Verification: Ensure containers adhere to international shipping standards and regulations, such as those set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the Container Safety Convention (CSC). Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports that outline findings, recommendations, and any required repairs or maintenance. Communication: Liaise with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and clients to communicate inspection results, discuss repair options, and facilitate necessary actions. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and related documentation for future reference and auditing purposes. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement quality control procedures to enhance container inspection processes and ensure consistency. Training: Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors or personnel involved in container handling to improve their understanding of inspection protocols and industry standards. Environmental Compliance: Ensure containers meet environmental regulations by inspecting for the presence of hazardous materials, proper labeling, and compliance with waste disposal guidelines Ensuring strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment): Must demonstrate a steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment, consistently following established HSE protocols and guidelines.
