Salary – Up to £50,000
Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA or Lackenby Works, Middlesbrough, TS6 7RP
Grade - E
Pattern of Work - 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in transport and logistics, ideally within the steel industry.
You should be a great communicator and who can motivate a strong and experienced team ensuring they have the support they need at all times.
You will also have excellent IT/systems knowledge and strong commercial business acumen. As a problem solver you will be able to anticipate potential problems and implement preventative actions alongside managing internal/external stakeholders at varying levels.

Responsibilities

Working as an Operations Manager within the Transport and Shipping team you will plan and execute the procurement of container freight ensuring that the services provided are undertaken in a safe, timely and efficient manner in line with customer requirements, service level agreements and business objectives.
You will ensure that the strategy and plan is executed such that container freight is procured at the lowest cost in order to meet the service needs of the respective business activities. Working with the Commercial and Operations teams, you will ensure that optimum solutions are delivered in terms of service, quality and cost effectiveness.
In this role you will manage our carriers and all operational shipping contracts ensuring compliance, performance and good service at all times.
