The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • DPI Certified
  • IICL Certified (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years container surveying experience
  • Experience using Containerchain
  • Extensive team leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural development and process improvement
  • Understanding of M&R Tariffs
  • Knowledge of CEDEX codes and MERC+

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity for a Container Surveyor Supervisor to join our team!
This role will be responsible for managing all Surveyors to ensure timely and efficient surveys are complete to meet customer needs. Follow all safety and environment requirements by effectively leading and managing teams to meet operational and customer needs while remaining cost effective.

THE KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Operations

  • Train surveyors up to the required business standard
  • Provide information to Container Park team on MNR and surveyor technical responses
  • Liaise with Surveyors on all shipping line requests (upgrade demands and customer processes) and ensure all requests are being met
  • Create and implement surveying on-boarding road maps
  • Manage daily quote sheet and ensure surveying team are meeting the requirements
  • Be across company KPI’s and drive results with surveyors
  • Manage all DPI requests and inspections
  • Manage all CSC (convention for safe containers) requests and inspections
  • Manage handheld devices and ensure all are working and troubleshoot issues if required
  • Provide weekly report for management on Surveyor stats
  • Create and supply weekly KPI reports to customers

Team Management

  • Prepare rosters for Surveyors and manage overtime
  • Ensure daily time sheets are signed off and completed in time management system
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching for all direct reports
  • Observe team members to ensure that all are adequately trained and assessed as competent to safely perform their respective duties
  • Coach, mentor and directly supervise employees
  • Maintain employee productivity to meet customer service level agreements
  • Maintain employee engagement and positive workplace culture that fosters great performance
